Toronto-based writer and workshop facilitator.
Long story short
I’ve always loved words. As a kid I wrote stories about a dragon named Figment (he had to save imagination from an evil wizard, see). As a teen, I moved onto thinly veiled Jane Eyre ripoffs. I played word games with my family and some of my best friends existed in books.
I’ve organized my life around what has always felt like a fundamental truth to me. Words matter.
It’s what led me to a BA in American and English Literature, and later a MA in Modern and Contemporary Fiction. It’s what fueled my first adult forays into fiction and personal essays.
And it’s what led me to becoming a creative writing coach and workshop facilitator at Firefly Creative Writing. Every day, I get to see the power of people telling their stories, finding their voices, and crafting meaning.
